March was a wash-out due to the poor weather. We had 7 members bringing in 3 models for an abbreviated meeting. We haven’t been having good luck with the snow and ice this year. On the bright side, weather conditions can only get better for the rest of the year!
MARCH MEETING!!!
FUHGETTABOUT IT! We’ll be pushing those activities back to the April meeting.
On the agenda: April
WORK IN PROGRESS NIGHT: This is ALWAYS a lot of fun. Who doesn’t have projects on the work-bench? Grab some to show the group! Please be prepared to share a couple words about your process.
DECAL SWAP NIGHT: Decals! It’s as much a part of this hobby as glue and paint. We all have them. So bring in some to sell trade, or give away if you wish. For everyone else, bring some cash as you never know if those markings you’ve always wanted will show up!
DESERT THEME NIGHT: This will be the first theme meeting of 2007. It’s not a contest, but a theme night. A Desert Theme Night! All you have to do is bring in something that can be somehow tied into the desert. There’s a lot of stuff that fall in that category, so I hope to see a table filled. Please be prepared to say a word or two about the desert items you bring in.
THEME DISCUSSION: We already know what the first theme contest for 2007 will be, VINTAGE 1965 sponsored by our Lord of Awards Ed Dietrich. But what about December? There were several ideas kicked around the last meeting. The Warsaw Pact. There’s an anniversary for the Air Force. There’s also an anniversary for Thet Offensive. But there did seem to be a lot of interest in “We Mean Business” theme that would be about corporate placement. You can do real stuff, or use your imagination. If you are interested in any of these concepts, please speak with the officers during the next meeting. June is approaching quickly, and we want to be on top of things for the next theme as soon as possible.

Region 1 Update 04-12-07
Hi everyone,
A few quick things to pass along this time. First up is Noreastcon. We're about two weeks out, and I hope everyone is getting ready. To make sure everyone gets answers to your questions, there's a forum that's been set up at

Questions, comments, and whatever are welcome. Tom is telling me more sponsorships are available, so all you last minute shoppers can be accommodated, and you know who you are!! I'm still collecting recently passed members names to be read at the banquet, so if your chapter has lost a friend in the last year, please get me the name.
I know most chapters have received either one or two lessons on the use of the Fact Sheet from DLC Dick Montgomery. I plan to cover it's use in detail at the business meeting, so bring whatever questions you may have then. Each chapter should be designating one or more of their members to attend the meeting and join in the fun and games!!
I'll keep this short this time to save the rest of it for the business meeting. See y'all at Noreastcon!!
