BPMS Zoom Mini Meeting 01/03/2023

Twelve people attended the meeting, which was moderated by Mark N. Thanks, Mark, for helping out on short notice. Lou reported releases from HK (1/48 B-25 J) and from Trumpeter (1/35 2S25 Sprut-SD amphibious light tank and two 1/72 T-72s, one w/ mine roller, one w/ gill armor). In a sort of prelude to the big model topic, Vaughn and Frank C discussed actual helicopters with folding blades and other space-saving features.
In progress and completed work included: A-6 (with multi-part pre-colored pe instrument panel), C-47, B-47, H-25A, Monarch butterfly (Metal Earth), Roman warship (Franks G has made a lot of progress), FW-187 A, Kyushu Q1-W1 Lorna, M-1 Panther II mine clearing tank, Spirit of St Louis and F-104.  Acquistions included: Ghost of Christmas Past bust (from 1951's Scrooge), Palmer bust (from 1982's The Thing), Convair Kingfish and Mirage III E/R. The featured tool was Windor & Newton Brush Cleaner & Restorer. It works on acrylics and oils. Safe for brushes but not for plastic (ask Gil about his Rapidograph).
The topic was big models. It seems like most of us have bought at least one big kit. Some have built them (ask Gil about his Seaview or DB-5), some have sold them (ask Frank about his B-36) and some stick to one scale as a way to save display space. That leaves the rest of us to figure out where we're going to put our big kits once they're built (like Tug McGraw, Ya Gotta Believe). The next meeting is Tuesday, 1/10/23 at 7:30 pm. Invites to follow.  Hope to see you then.
Russ
