40TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER

Here are the arrangements: we have a room at The 56th Fighter Group for Saturday, April 28. The cost, tax and tip, is around $30 per person. A cash bar will be available for those who want to have an adult beverage. We were none too soon in making the arrangement. The room we used last time was already booked; however, there is another very nice room on the first floor which we will be able to use from 1pm to 5pm. The food will be available, buffet style, at 1:30 pm.
  • Salad - Tossed garden salad or tomato mozzarella salad
  • Entrée - Chicken marsala, or penne a la vodka, or sliced steak with mushroom
  • Dessert - Cheesecake or chocolate mousse
  • Unlimited coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
Please note that wives, girlfriends, and significant others are welcome and encouraged to come! We already have several signed up to come. Please let the officers know whether or not members’ guests are interested and at the next meeting, which will be teh final meeting before the gathering! Thanks!

‘Support the Troops’campaign update!

Since the beginning of the year, our ‘Support the Troops’campaign has supported the IPMS Wounded Warriors chapter at the Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC), Ft. Sam Houston, TX with seven shipments totaling 141 items, including 62 model kits, an airbrush, and hobby magazines. Past IPMS USA Vice-President Dick Montgomery is coordinating the effort to provide models, supplies and reference material to the Wounded Warriors chapter. This task includes rectifying missing parts or unusable decals in donated kits. Please consider donating decals that can be used to replace aged or missing decals in previously donated kits. Also, since we’re shipping domestically, paint donations do not have to be exclusively water-based.

Thanks again for your support.

March was another great meeting. We had 31 members and no guests who brought in 23 of their favorite models to share with the group.

March Meeting
DECAL SWAP NIGHT: Bring in decals to sell or trade. We had quite an assortment out there.

FAVORITE MODEL: Members brought their favorite models, built or unbuilt and told the group why. We learned a lot about our fellow members that night.

40TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER: Here are the arrangements so far. We have a room at The 56th Fighter Group for Saturday, April 28. The cost, tax and tip, is around $30 per person. FLOYD BENNETT FIELD: We got some more information regarding the Ryan Center. It appears the celebration may have been premature. Looks like it’ll be ready later than sooner. We’ll keep you updated.

THAT 70s THEME: Find out all about it HERE.

On the agenda APRIL
WORK IN PROGRESS NIGHT: What’s on your workbench? Something for the next contest? Theme contest? Maybe your pledge? Bring it in and show the group what you’re up to! Be prepared to tell the us a couple wards on your project.

LIGHTING UP MODELS CLINIC: Hosted by Joe Bergman and your humble narrator, we’ll discuss a few methods we have used to light up our models. Whether you want to light up a control panel, an interior, or install running lights on your models, we’ll provide the information you need to get it done!

MONOGRAM THEME NIGHT: Frank C wrote an article about our December 2011 Theme Contest and submitted it to IPMS. It's been published in the current issue of the JOURNAL. You can have a look at pages 54 - 55 if you're interested or download a PDF HERE.

NEW MEMBER: We voted in our first new member of the year! Recognize this face?
