8/30/22 BPMS Zoom mini meeting report

Twelve people attended the meeting. Gordon is keeping busy. He ordered the BPMS polo shirts and he got wireless mics to better livestream the September in-person meeting. Now all we need is content. Sensible suggestions are welcome. The 50th Anniversary luncheon will be Sunday, 10/16/22 at 1pm at Buckley's, 2926 Ave S, Brooklyn NY 11229. To date, 25 people have said they'll attend and there's room for more.

In progress and completed work included: Fw-190 G (Vaughn's work on the kit landing gear was guided by the operation of the actual landing gear), P-26 (Mr. K overcame the "Dullcote disaster" he reported a few weeks back), An-74, F-15 E, F-111, F-4 EJ, Capt. Kidd's Black Falcon and Green Hornet's Black Beauty. Acquisitions included: Postal Service Truck (Metal Earth) and 1960 'Vette Grand Sport. Gil's tool of the week was Tamiya's anti-static "model cleaning brush". It removes dust etc. without any tack cloth residue. It also gets in places tack cloths can't. We heard Dullcote can be made even flatter by pouring off 1/3 of a new bottle and replacing it with lacquer thinner. We asked about rubber infused crazy glue. Several people saw for sale but no one has tried it yet.

The discussion on pinning joints covered ways to align parts and transfer center marks, hole orientation and size, pin materials and adhesives. Thanks to Kevin. Joe, Vaughn, Frank, Steve, Bobby and others for sharing. Don't take this the wrong way but if you missed this discussion, you missed a lot

The next meeting is 9/6/22. Frank and/or others will be sending the invites for September 's Tuesday meetings. Thanks in advance for filling in.
